For 2021’s first episode of Business Matters, presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, Rob Cupello is joined by Justin Chapman, the vice-president of CanScribe Career College.
CanScribe Career College has been providing students with online education programs and matching graduates with employers since 2003 - long before COVID-19 forced our school systems to become virtual. CanScribe was the first of its kind in Canada, but now serves as a leader in distance education.
The college works to provide students who are limited in their ability to attend school with excellent training and career opportunities, whatever their reason might be. Better yet, the jobs offered to students often are remote as well.
Rob and Justin discuss the support provided to students by an active Student Services department that actively checks in with students, as well as readily available professors.
Justin describes the various programs offered at CanScribe such as computer training, administrative assistant, an Association of Healthcare Documentation Integrity (ADHI) approved course on medical transcription and soon to be released program teaching students fundamental skills in excel, marketing, human resources and more.
Programs are designed alongside employers to create a great program. Justin asks himself this question to guide himself when developing a successful course: “is this training going to be genuine and actually help people out?”
