In this episode of Csekin in, Nikki Csek recently sat down with Carlee Wiebe, the general manager of Eternal Timber and Design. The two discussed Wiebe’s journey as an athlete and her current position managing the business alongside her husband Shawn.
Wiebe was born in Singapore and moved to Kelowna at age six. Growing up in Kelowna, she frequently visited Big White Ski Resort and despite her initial resentment towards snowboarding, Wiebe went on to develop a passion for it and went on to become a professional at the sport.
Unfortunately, her career as an athlete was cut short due to injuries. Following this, Wiebe faced many uncertainties with what to do next.
Upon meeting her husband Shawn, a very skilled craftsman, the two started Eternal Timber and Design, a custom made furniture company.
“I love what I do in the company,” says Wiebe, “clients in Kelowna are just amazing.”
The couple have just recently opened their new furniture store and have plans to potentially collaborate with local artisans in the future.
